On April 16th, Washington 4-H will host a Floral Design Workshop at Wolf Floral in Washington from 4 pm-4:45 pm. Participants will learn the topics of floral design basics, cut flower care, tips for growing flowers at home, floral careers, and more. This workshop will be led by 4-H floral superintendent Kathleen Brinning. Pre-registration is required by April 1st. Limited space is available, and the workshop will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a $10 fee for this workshop. Participants will need to bring their own clean mason jar to use as a vase. All participants will take home a fresh floral arrangement in their mason jar. The fees for service will be used to offset direct expenses. Youth are encouraged to participate and learn through these hands-on experiences to boost knowledge and spark new project interests while having a good time, creating, and building upon skills. Contact Amy at the Washington County Extension Office, 319-653-4811, with questions or if you have other workshop requests or would like to volunteer.
