The Washington County Mutual Aid Association is holding the First Annual County Fire School on Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26. Members from all Washington County fire departments will be in attendance.

Saturday’s schedule includes a variety of classes covering street smart tactics, all things hose and nozzles, and all skills needed for making the grab. On Sunday, firefighters will use the knowledge gained in day one to participate in live fire drills and practice scenarios.

Ainsworth Fire Chief, Waylon Schultz, tells KCII the purpose for holding what he hopes will become a yearly event. “This is the first annual school that we decided to put together so that all departments in Washington County can train the same and work together. When we go to emergency incidents we all work together as one big team. It just gets us all working better when we arrive for people’s emergencies.”

The First Annual County Fire School will be held at the Riverside Training Center at 1195 Vine Avenue.
