Students at Hillcrest Academy are gearing up for their spring production this weekend. This is the first time the play, written by director Andrea Farrier, will be performed for an audience.
Titled The Show Must Go On, Farrier based the play around the very students who will be putting it on. As senior, Hannah Chalupa explains, “The play is about a ton of high schoolers who realize they don’t have a play for the spring. It’s a ton of shorter stories, but the overarching theme is that we’re trying to make a play for our audience.”
In lieu of selling tickets, audiences can attend either performance for a free-will donation. Proceeds received from the production will be going to The Lighthouse Center, a community outreach center in Washington offering food, clothing, counseling, and emergency housing to those in need.
Performances will take place at Celebration Hall on Friday, March 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 25 at 3 p.m.
