The Horse & Pony 4-H Club parents, leaders, and the Southeast Iowa Draft Horse & Mule Association are hosting the annual 4-H Horse Driving Clinic. The clinic will be held at the Washington County Fairgrounds in conjunction with the 4-H Pancakes and More Breakfast April 22. Youth may register to attend the clinic from 10 a.m. – noon or 1 pm-3 pm. Participants will be paired with their own hitched draft horse team and an experienced teamster to help train. The clinic will include harnessing demonstrations, hitching demonstrations, and driving clinics and end with a driving class competition. This unique opportunity is open to any Washington County 4-H youth enrolled for the 2022-2023 4-H year. Youth do not have to be a Horse & Pony member to participate and learn.  This clinic is free. Youth must wear jeans, boots/close-toed shoes, and riding helmet. Helmets are available to borrow if needed. The rain date is set for April 29. Registration is due by April 1st.
