districts-2023

Earlier this month, six members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter participated in the Southeast District Career Development Events and Convention at Muscatine High School.

Gabi Robertson received a second place gold rating for the scrapbook, earning a trip to the state competition. The Reporter’s Scrapbook serves as a permanent record of the chapter’s history.

Brynn Younge, Elliot Debler, and Greta Sieren received gold ratings as well, and were named as alternates for state. Younge presented her public speech titled, Where’s the Beef, while Debler and Sieren prepared the Secretary’s Book, which includes the minutes of past meetings and chapter attendance.

Other participants at the district convention included Allie Whetstine and Brock Fisher who took the Greenhand Test and received a gold and silver, respectively. Brynn Northup and Stella Janecek served as voting delegates, and Marissa Cline completed her year of service as the Southeast FFA District Secretary.

In addition to these awards, six members of the Mid-Prairie FFA chapter will receive their Iowa FFA Degrees at the State Convention. They are Alexa Huber, Blake Peck, Payton Peck, Gabi Robertson, Jacey Sisson, and Kelyn Yoder. This year’s event will be held on April 17 and April 18 in Ames.
