As of March 17th, according to Iowa Courts Online, Washington Mayor Jaron Rosien has pled not guilty to the crime of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, a Class C Felony. A written arraignment was submitted to the court by Rosien, waiving his right to a speedy trial. After receiving the arraignment, the court set a date for the pretrial conference, as well as a trial date. The Pretrial Conference is set for June 23rd, with the trial date set for July 18th. Rosien was charged on January 24th with Sexual Abuse in the 3rd Degree, a Class C Felony; he turned himself into Washington County authorities later that day. The claim was made that a patron at Rosien’s establishment sustained unwanted and inappropriate touching by Rosien on the night of January 7th.
