The Washington Demons began the boys’ soccer season with an impressive 7-0 victory over the Columbus Wildcats yesterday. Washington had a 3-0 lead in the first 14 minutes and would be in front by that margin at halftime before tacking on extra late tallies.

Demon junior Manny Raymundo had a dominant season debut, scoring four goals and getting eight of his 10 total shots on goal. Senior Fredy Aguilar and junior Isaac Gentry also scored, while junior Brayan Arreola had a goal and two assists.

The Washington girls also picked up a win in their opener, defeating Central Lee 2-1 on the road last night. While the Demon girls next host Columbus on Thursday, the boys will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to Highland. After also suffering a 10-0 loss at West Liberty on Monday, Columbus will be looking for their first goal and first victory when they visit Mount Pleasant on Monday.
