Washington County 4-H has opened registration for the regional 4-H Jr Camp. This two-day and one-night camp is held at Crooked Creek Christian Camp south of Washington and will run June 6, 8:30 a.m. – June 7, 4:45 p.m. Current 4-H members 4th-6th grade are invited to register for this experience. This camp is hosted by Region 19 counties, including Washington, Johnson, Keokuk, and Iowa counties. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp. Participants will experience fishing, canoeing, outdoor nature water slides, art, science, dancing, smores, and more. Registration cost is $135. Scholarships are available upon request. To accommodate such interest in jr. camp, there will be a lottery drawing from those registered to fill the limited spots. The drawing will be on April 17th. All 4-H juniors will have equal opportunity to register online between March 15-April 15 with no money down until after the lottery drawing. Registration is due by April 15th. All those registered will be notified April 17th the outcome of the drawing. Additional spots may become available from other counties after their local deadline and then offered to those on the Washington waiting list after May 1st.
