The Keota Eagles were victorious in a boys’ golf triangular with the Sigourney Savages and Colfax-Mingo Monday, posting a team score of 176 strokes that just edged out Sigourney by seven strokes. Junior Cole Kindred had the top round for the Eagles with a seven-over-par 43, although the meet medalist was Savage senior Clay Morse with a round of 39. Kindred had classmate Sawyer Stout and senior teammate Caden Sprouse hot on his heels, as both shot 44. Sophomore Billie Kindred was one stroke behind that pace, while senior Carsin Kindred fired a 48 and senior Aiden Anderson added a 50.
Along with Morse’s top round of the day, Sigourney got a 46 from freshman Solon Yates and 49s from Issac Bruns and Josh Wyatt. Ty Kruger’s 50 rounded out the day for the Savages, who next hit the home links tomorrow against Tri-County and Belle Plaine. Keota will next play tomorrow at home against North Mahaska and Iowa Valley.
