Two local golf teams scored wins in their first event of the year Monday at Blue Top Ridge at the Riverside Casino and Golf Course. The Hillcrest Academy boys took down Highland and Wapello in a triangular. The Ravens shot 179 for the win, Wapello was second at 184 and Highland third with a 242. Hillcrest had the medalist with Luke Schrock posting a course best 41 on the night. Liam Schrock tied for medalist runner-up honors with his 44. Other scores for the Ravens included Jace Rempel and Rowan Miller with 47s, Josiah Beachy 58 and Ethan Yoder 74.
Highland was led by Peyton Yeggy’s 51. Other scores for the Huskies included Will Dunbar 62, Colton Sypherd 63, Isaac Kleese 66, Jacob Hartzler 71 and Chase Hickenbottom 97.
The Highland girls were team champs, beating the Arrows 219-299. Top round for the Huskies came from medalist Kelsi Cerny with a 52. Other Highland scores included medalist runner-up Adeline Krotz 53, Adisyn Prottsman 56, Jenna Waters 58, Danika Kraus 59 and Emersyn Schultz 69.
