tax-day-2

Those who have yet to submit their 2022 tax returns have just over one week to do so. With April 15 falling on a weekend, and the District of Columbia’s Emancipation Day holiday the following Monday, this year’s deadline is Tuesday, April 18.

April 18 is also the final day for individuals and small businesses to get an extension to file. Those who request an extension will have until Monday, October 16.

168 million individual returns were projected to be filed this tax season, which began on January 23. Last-minute taxpayers are reminded to collect the right information before filing. This includes Social Security documents, income statements such as W-2s, and tax forms that report any other types of income.
