The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls golf teams are back on the course Monday to take on Tipton in a pair of River Valley Conference duals. The Mid-Prairie boys found success last week in a 177-185 win over West Branch to move to 3-1 on the season. In the win over the Bears, the Hawks swept the medals with Bryce Henry taking top honors at 42 and Drew Schlabaugh second with 44. The Golden Hawks team average per nine this year is 173. Top individual average is Henry’s 42. Tipton is 8-2 this year. The Tigers were also a winner Monday, 164-184 over Iowa City Regina, led by Tristin Sorgenfrey’s medal round of 37. Tipton’s team average per nine is 161 with the individual leader Sorgenfrey at 36. Tipton beat Mid-Prairie head to head last season 163-218.

The Golden Hawk girls were a winner at West Branch last week 202-209 behind Gabi Robertson’s co-medalist round of 48. The win moved their record to 3-2. This year, the Hawks have a 202 nine-hole team average with Robertson’s 46 the leader. Tipton was a winner Monday over Regina 219-262 with Paycee Sorgenfrey earning medalist honors with a 48. The Tigers team average per nine is 220 with Sorgenfrey’s 47 leading the way. Last season, Mid-Prairie beat the Tigers 218-269 head to head.

Action for both the boys and girls starts at 4p.m. and continues into the evening with the girls in Kalona and the boys at Tipton.
