The Mid-Prairie boys and girls soccer teams are back at home and back in River Valley Conference play Monday when they entertain the Monticello Panthers. Each squad traveled to Columbus Thursday and came home with wins. The Golden Hawk girls remained unbeaten on the year with a 1-0 win over the Wildcats behind a clean sheet from Kina Miller and an Elise Gingerich first half goal. This season, Mid-Prairie has scored four times and given up two goals. Amara Jones has a pair of goals with Sophia Baker and Gingerich each finding the back of the net once. Miller has made 16 saves and allowed just one goal. Monticello is 0-1 this year, opening the season with a 9-0 loss to Bellevue. The Golden Hawks have won 10 of 11 all-time contests against the Panthers including a 7-0 shut out victory last season.

The Golden Hawk boys grabbed their first win over the year at Columbus Thursday 1-0 on a Tucker Miller PK goal and a clean sheet from Andrew Kaufman. The Hawks are 1-2, scoring twice and giving up 16 goals. Miller and Noah Ford each have a goal to lead the offense and Joe Hall has a team best 17 saves in goal. Monticello is 0-2 with losses to Western Dubuque and West Liberty. They have been outscored 8-2 this season. Deacon Besler has both goals for the Panthers. Dom Larimore has an assist. Mid-Prairie is 9-0 all-time in the series including a 5-0 win last season. The girls game gets underway at 5p.m. with the boys to follow Monday in Wellman.
