The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls track team has their second meet of the week tonight when they travel to Tipton for the Tiger Invitational.
The Hawks were last on the oval Monday when they won the Mike Kautz Invitational at Lone Tree with 152 points. The Hawks had six event championships including Phoebe Shetler going double gold with a 1500 and 3000. Harper Pacha was the shot put champ. Three Mid-Prairie relays won gold including the 4×200 team of Nevaeh Decker, Sophia Schwartz, Lanee Duwa and Elise Gingerich, the distance medley of Duwa, Gingerich, Hannah Rodgers and Kali Miller, and the shuttle hurdle team of Sophie Miller, Ashlee Farrier, and Emily and Olivia Schlabach. Other top performances included seconds in the 100 for Decker, Sophie Miller in the 100 hurdles, the 4×400, 4×800 and sprint medley teams, and thirds for Annika Poll in the 400, Emily Schlabach in the 100 hurdles, Ashley Harmsen in the shot put, Pacha in the discus and the 4×100 team.
Joining Mid-Prairie tonight are Camanche, Durant, Easton Valley, Iowa City High, Iowa City Liberty, Northeast Goose Lake, Waterloo West and West Liberty. Action starts at 4:30p.m. and continues into the evening at Tipton City Park.
