The Hillcrest Academy soccer team is back on pitch Thursday when they travel to Wapello for a meeting with the Indians. Hillcrest is 1-0 this year and ranked No. 9 in Class 1A in the initial poll of the season from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. The Ravens were a 3-1 winner in their season opener against the Cedar Valley Christian Huskies last week. Hillcrest got goals from Grant Bender, Seth Ours and Rowan Miller, an assist each from Lincoln Miller and Isaac Lybeck, and a save from keeper Kyle Neuschwander in his first career start.

Wapello is 0-3 to start the season, having been outscored 29-2 this year in matches against Prince of Peace, Sigourney and WACO. Last time out against the Warriors it was a 9-2 setback for the Indians in which Jaxon Marshall and Jack Boysen had the first goals for the team this year and Adin Muff the lone assist. Kainoa Seumanatafa has made 54 saves so far this year.

Hillcrest is 10-0 all-time against Wapello including a 7-0 victory last season. Action starts tonight at 5p.m. in Wapello.
