The Hillcrest Academy boys golf team is on the course tonight when they travel to New London for a Southeast Iowa Superconference triangular against the Louisa-Muscatine Falcons and home Tigers. The Ravens opened the season with a pair of wins, knocking off Wapello and Highland in a triangular at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside April 3rd with a team score of 179. On that night, Luke Schrock was medalist with his round of 41. Liam Schrock was medalist runner-up with his 44. Other scores included Rowan Miller and Jace Rempel with 47s, Josiah Beachy at 58 and Ethan Yoder with a 74.
Louisa-Muscatine was last in action Tuesday at the Golden Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Course where they shot a 436 in 18 holes to finish ninth in the 10 team field led by Xander Bieri’s 89. For the year, the Falcons have a nine hole average score of 214, led by Bieri’s 43.
New London last hit the links Tuesday when they lost to Wapello on a fifth card tiebreak after the schools ended with matching 180 tallies. Mason Shelledy led the way for the Tigers with a 40 to finish as medalist runner-up. This year New London has a team average of 187 per nine holes led by Shelledy at 43.
Last season the Tigers got by the Ravens as part of a quad meet in Fort Madison 176 to 192. The Ravens beat the Falcons a year ago with a 192 score when L-M could not post a team score. Action starts tonight at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at Deerwood Golf Club in New London.
