The Washington Demons have still not finished golf team competition without winning this season, as both the girls and boys were victorious again yesterday in Southeast Conference action. The boys beat all comers at Mount Pleasant Golf & Country Club with a team score of 145 strokes, finishing 16 ahead of second-place Fairfield. Fresh off winning the Golden Hawk Invitational, Washington junior Roman Roth shot a two-under-par 34 to be the meet medalist. Freshman teammate Rajan Roth was only one stroke behind, and freshman Drew Conrad and junior Luke Beenblossom were each two over. Junior Teague Meyer shot 41 and senior Isaac Vetter also fired a 44 for the Demons.
The Washington girls were just as impressive, as their team score of 162 was 21 strokes clear of runner-up and host Keokuk. Senior Makenna Conrad missed medalist honors by a tiebreaker after posting a 36, and classmate Kaylin Long was only three strokes behind her. Fellow senior Mallary Johnson continued her strong play of late by shooting 43, while freshman Adalyn Long fired a 44. Seniors Haley Mitchell and Alecia Goff each shot 46, while junior Maci Williams added a 48. While the Demon girls will wait until Monday to return to the course when they visit Mount Pleasant, the Washington boys are back on the links today at an 18-hole tournament in Pella.
