The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams suffered setbacks Friday in a River Valley Conference doubleheader at Dyersville Beckman. The top 10 Blazers shut out the Hawks in the boys match 4-0. The Golden Hawks put together some chances, finishing with nine total shots, five on goal, including two from Tucker Miller and two corner kicks, but were unable to break through. Jacob Flynn made seven saves in goal for Mid-Prairie. The loss drops the Hawks to 3-3, Beckman remains unbeaten at 4-0.

The Golden Hawk girls saw their perfect start to the season stopped Friday in a 5-1 loss. Mid-Prairie trailed 2-1 at half, with their tally coming on a Sophia Baker goal, her seventh of the year. Beckman proved to be too much, piling up three second half goals for insurance to secure the win. Kina Miller made 11 saves in the match. The loss, the Hawks first on the season, drops Mid-Prairie to 4-1. Beckman is now 2-0. Both the boys and girls will be in Wellman Monday to meet West Branch.
