The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team took the course Tuesday for their second 18-hole event of the year, this time on the road at Wahkonsa Country Club in Durant. The Golden Hawks shot a 357 team score to finish fourth of eight schools behind Tipton’s championship round of 339. Mid-Prairie’s team score is one stroke better than they carded at their home 18-hole invitational last week in Kalona. The Hawks had three players fire career best rounds including Drew Schlabaugh with an 83 for fifth place, going 41 on the front and 42 on the back side. He collected eight pars and a birdie.
Warren Scarff finished with a personal best 87, tying for 10th place in the field. He shot 41 on the front and 46 on the back with a birdie.
Aiden Bush shot 92, with matching 46s on the front and back for 23rd place. He knocked down one birdie on the day.
Alex Bean had the best round of his Mid-Prairie career, going 50 and 45 for a 26th place 95. He had a birdie and five pars for the day.
Bryce Henry scored 45 and 51 for a 96, which included a birdie. Clayton Davidson went 47 and 51 for a 98 total with four pars and a birdie.
Mid-Prairie’s next meet is Monday on the road in an RVC dual against Wilton.
The Columbus Wildcats sent Grant Watson to Wahkonsa where he finished with a front nine 50 and backside 53 for 103 in 40th place.
