Sigourney-Keota soccer got another victory on the road last night, defeating the Columbus Wildcats 2-0. After losing Friday night 7-2 to Prairie City-Monroe, SK was more than prepared to bounce back, as it took less than 30 seconds for Kale Clarahan to score the game’s first goal. Columbus came in off back-to-back victories against Danville and Highland, and the Wildcats would hang tough after yielding the match’s opening salvo. But the ‘Cats could not find scoring of their own, and a penalty kick converted by Jack Clarahan finished off an SK victory. Sigourney-Keota improves to 5-2 ahead of a trip to WACO tomorrow, while Columbus will try to improve on their 2-5 record when they visit Hillcrest Academy tomorrow.
