The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team hosted their annual 18-hole Golden Hawk Invitational Thursday in Kalona. Mid-Prairie shot an even 400 in the team category, good for fourth place. Fairfield won the meet with a 394. Round of the day for the Hawks belonged to Madi Davidson with her 96 to finish sixth. Other top Mid-Prairie scores included Alexa Huber with a 101 for 10th place, Elliot Debler 103, with a team leading 48 on the front nine, Addison English 104, Kylie Reinier 106 and Gabi Robertson 108. After the meet, Davidson, Debler and Huber spoke with KCII Sports about the day. Debler started, “I made a pretty long putt, that’s probably my best shot of the day. I think everyone did pretty well.”

Davidson said, “Hole five, I had a pretty long putt. It was on the fringe on the back of the green and the pin was at the front. My putt went right next to the hole and I tapped in for par. I think we did pretty average. There’s always room for improvement.”

Huber added, “On number six, my irons were working really well, and I got in for bogey. We just have to eliminate some of the bigger numbers. Just small things.”

Mid-Prairie is off until Monday when they host Wilton in a River Valley Conference dual.
