Last week, the Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter saw 18 of its members attend the Iowa FFA Leadership Conference in Ames.

Gabi Robertson participated in a leadership development event, receiving fourth place for her Reporter’s Scrapbook.

Brock Fisher and Allie Whetstine took the Greenhand Test about FFA knowledge. Whetstine received a gold rating, while Fisher received a bronze.

Quinn Callahan, Payton Peck, Kelyn Yoder, and Brynn Younge competed in the Ag Sales Skills event, where they received a gold rating by selling battery-powered grass trimmers.

The Ag Biotech team consisted of Alexa Huber, Sydney Knebel, Gabi Robertson, and Charlotte Sieren. Together, they placed seventh with a gold rating, while Huber placed tenth as an individual.

Tate Bombei, Brynn Northup, and Madelyn Sieren put together the Chapter Display, highlighting one of the chapter’s agricultural advocacy activities last spring. The display received a gold rating.

Six members of the chapter received their Iowa FFA Degrees, the highest degree the state can award to high school members. They were Alexa Huber, Blake Peck, Payton Peck, Gabi Robertson, Jacey Sisson, and Kelyn Yoder.

Marissa Cline and Peighton Ford served as the chapter’s delegates and voted for the new state officer team. Jacey Sisson served as a member of the state Program of Activities Committee and helped plan for future activities. Ella Brunk was the chapter flag bearer during the second session.

The Mid-Prairie FFA Chapter was also recognized as one of the six chapters receiving the Public Relations Award for promoting agricultural awareness.
