A pair of KCII area boys golf teams went low in triangular action Tuesday at Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English. The Hillcrest Academy Ravens won the meet with their 156, a decades best score for Ravens golf. Hillcrest was led by Rowan Miller’s even par night of 36 that included a pair of birdies and five pars. Miller spoke with KCII Sports after the meet about his night, “Everything was pretty well rounded. I was hitting them straight off the tee and if I missed my approach shot I was able to get up and down for par. Hole five, a par three, I missed the green to the right on the fringe and was able to chip in for the birdie. That was a good start to the day.”

Hillcrest had two other cards under 40 with Liam Schrock at 38 and Jace Rempel 39. Luke Schrock shot 43, Seth Ours 44 and Josiah Beachy 55.

Keota fired a team round of 169. Sawyer Stout led the way with his four over 40. He joined KCII Sports after the meet to breakdown his day, “Hole number six, straight downhill. I hit a pretty good drive. I was like 30 yards out and I put a nice chip shot about two feet from the hole and had a pretty easy birdie. That really kicked off my round. It was my third hole. That really makes you feel good and confident. Tonight I was putting really well. It didn’t really feel like there was much break and I could just putt it straight in.”

Other scores for the Eagles included Billie Kindred 42, Caden Sprouse 43, Aidan Anderson and Carsin Kindred 44 and Cole Kindred 45.

The Ravens and Eagles both return to the course Thursday when Keota hosts Lynnville-Sully and Hillcrest travels to Winfield-Mt. Union.
