The boil order that went into effect for the City of Ainsworth on Sunday was lifted yesterday morning. Bacteria levels in samples sent to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources came back satisfactory, signaling that it is no longer necessary for residents to boil their water before use.
The advisory was put in place after the Ainsworth Water Supply Well was struck by lightning and required repairs. Any questions may be directed to Water Operator, Brian Portwood, at 319-936-4189 or City Clerk, Cheryl Smith, at 319-657-3761.
