A pair of Mid-Prairie athletes performed on the opening day of high school competition Thursday at the 113th annual Drake Relays in Des Moines. For the Golden Hawk boys, senior Cain Brown skied to third place in the high jump, clearing a new personal best and school record 6’9″. Jacob Kieler of Cedar Falls won the event at 6’10”. In the girls 3000, Golden Hawk junior Danielle Hostetler was 10th with her time of 10:18.66. Paityn Noe of Ballard won the event in 9:28.99.
