The Keota Eagles and Sigourney Savages both closed their week out with victories in boys’ golf. Keota defeated Lynnville-Sully Thursday at Lagos Acres Golf Course in Keota, posting a team score of 152 strokes that was 28 better than the Hawks. Eagle senior Caden Sprouse was the meet medalist by shooting an even-par 36, with junior Sawyer Stout a stroke behind as the runner-up and fellow junior Cole Kindred was two strokes behind in third. Sophomore Billie Kindred shot a 41, while seniors Aidan Anderson and Carsin Kindred fired rounds of 42 and 45, respectively. Keota will next host their annual tournament Monday.
Sigourney was tops in a quadrangular at Marengo Golf Club, as their team score of 167 was five strokes better than BGM and 14 better than host Iowa Valley. Savage sophomore Issac Bruns’ two-over 38 earned him medalist honors, while senior Clay Morse and freshman Solon Yates were tied for third with a 42. Junior Brock Alderson shot 46 and freshman Josh Wyatt finished with a 47. Sophomore Cain Weber added a 53 for Sigourney, which is off until May 8th.
