The Columbus Wildcats picked up a conference win in boys’ soccer Friday night, defeating the WACO Warriors 6-0 in Wayland. A 2-0 halftime lead for Columbus tripled thanks to a hat trick-plus-one for Fernando Erazo. His four goals raise his total to 13 for the season. Junior Ian Estudillo also scored twice for the Wildcats, and senior Oscar Alcala had two assists. Columbus improves to 5-7 with the victory. The Wildcat girls were unfortunately dropped in both games they played Saturday in Burlington, falling 8-0 to Pella Christian and 5-0 to the host Burlington Notre Dame. The losses drop Columbus to 2-8. Both Wildcat teams will next play tomorrow when they host Wapello.
