The Washington Demon girls’ soccer team scored a Senior Day victory by defeating Mediapolis 2-1 Saturday. Washington got the 1-0 lead before halftime and would hang on for a close win thanks to goals from freshman Angeline Anderson and sophomore Audrey Anderson. Freshman goalkeeper Aleigha Medley also made five saves to help the Demons end a three-game losing streak and improve to 7-4.

The Washington boys were not able to match that result, taking a 3-0 home defeat Saturday to Mediapolis. Despite 13 shots on goal, the Demons could never crack the scoreboard. As a result, the Bulldogs took advantage of a scoreless game through one half and raced to victory in the last 40 minutes. Washington falls to 6-4 with its third loss in the last four matches. Both Demon teams return to the pitch later today to face Fairfield.
