The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team tees it up Tuesday with a conference title on the line. The Hawks are at the River Valley Conference championship meet at Saddleback Ridge in Solon. Mid-Prairie dropped a River Valley dual Monday at West Liberty 171-180, with Bryce Henry’s 44 the top score. On the year, Mid-Prairie has an 18-hole average of 355, with Drew Schlabaugh’s 85 best on the team. The Golden Hawks are ranked No. 24 in Class 2A this week by the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association with two players in the top 100. Schlabaugh is No. 69 and Warren Scarff is 90th.
Joining the Golden Hawks today are Anamosa, No. 1 in 2A Dyersville Beckman, No. 30 in 2A Bellevue, Camanche, Cascade, Durant, Maquoketa, No. 19 in 2A Monticello, Northeast Goose Lake, No. 15 in 1A Iowa City Regina, Tipton, West Branch, No. 17 in 2A West Liberty and Wilton. There are a total of 29 ranked players in today’s field. Action continues all day Tuesday at Saddleback Ridge in Solon.
