Washington Demon golf put on a show despite high winds and a championship-level course, as both teams won at the Washington Invitational yesterday at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside. The Washington boys put up a team score of 342 strokes, finishing 12 better than second-place Pella Christian and 2o less than Oskaloosa. Junior Roman Roth won his third 18-hole tournament of the season by shooting an eight-over-par 80, while Demon freshmen Drew Conrad and Rajan Roth were the first runners-up by shooting an 85 and an 86, respectively.

Junior Luke Beenblossom fired a 91, while junior Teague Meyer was two strokes behind him. Senior Isaac Vetter’s 106 rounded out the scoring for the Washington boys. The Demon girls defeated Oskaloosa and Lisbon with a team score of 398, led by senior Kaylin Long’s medalist round of 94. Makenna Conrad was the runner-up with a 95, while fellow senior Mallary Johnson was fourth with a 103. Junior Maci Williams added a 106, while senior Haley Mitchell shot 108. While the Washington girls are off until another tournament Thursday at Ottumwa, the Demon boys take part in the annual Southeast Conference Championships tomorrow in Fort Madison.
