Two local boys’ soccer teams suffered defeat Tuesday. The Highland Huskies fell 6-0 at home against Burlington Notre Dame. The Nikes already led 4-0 by halftime and never looked back. Highland is still winless on the season and will try to avoid falling to 0-12 when they host Wapello tomorrow.
Sigourney-Keota also lost Tuesday night to West Branch. The third-ranked team in Class 1A led SK 2-0 at halftime and used a late flurry of goals to turn the final margin of victory into 5-0. Sigourney-Keota is 6-4 ahead of their next match tomorrow, when they try to avoid a three-game losing streak by beating Albia at home.
