The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team takes the pitch Thursday looking for a bounce back win over rival Williamsburg on the road. The Hawks fell to rival Regina Monday in Iowa City 5-1, with Sophie Baker supplying the team’s lone goal. Mid-Prairie is 8-4 on the season and have outscored their opponents 39-25 overall, while posting six defensive shut outs. Individual leaders include Baker with eight goals and senior Kina Miller with five assists and 81 saves. Williamsburg is 3-8 this year, they were 4-1 winners over South Tama on Monday. They have been outscored 31-18 this year and have been shut out seven times. Kyah Sissel leads the Raiders with a pair of goals. London Cook has made 106 saves. Williamsburg has beaten Mid-Prairie the last two seasons by 1-0 and 3-0 scores respectively. Action gets underway tonight at 5p.m. at Bob Murphy Stadium in Williamsburg.
