The Sigourney Savages and Keota Eagles competed at this year’s South Iowa Cedar League Outdoor Track & Field Championships Tuesday in Brooklyn. The top finish for Sigourney belonged to sophomore Josephine Moore and freshmen Troy Klett and Addison Yates. Moore was third in the girls’ shot put, while Klett claimed third in the boys’ 3,200-meter run and Yates earned a bronze medal in the girls’ 3,000 meters.
The Sigourney girls also finished third in the sprint medley relay and were fourth in both the distance medley and the 4-by-400-meters. Keota’s best finish came from their girls’ sprint medley team, which finished one spot behind the Savages. Individually, Eagle freshman Olivia Lyle had the team’s best finish by taking ninth in the girls’ 400 meters. Freshman Gavin Sieren did the same in the boys’ long jump.
