Some of the area’s top girls golfers came to Schaeffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison yesterday for the annual Southeast Iowa Super Conference Tournament. The Highland Huskies finished second in the team standings, as their combined score of 389 strokes was 34 behind champion New London but 24 less than third-place Louisa-Muscatine.
Highland sophomore Danika Kraus had the best individual finish from area players, taking fourth on the leaderboard with an 18-hole score of 18-over-par 90. Husky freshman Adisyn Prottsman was tied for sixth overall with a 95, while junior Kelsi Cerny was tenth by shooting 101 and sophomore Adeline Krotz missed the top 10 by a spot with a 103. Senior Jenna Waters added a 109.
Winfield-Mount Union was fifth in the team standings. Senior Alli Humphreys led the Wolves by firing a 107, good for 13th overall. Senior Isabel Kann also shot 112 and freshman Kaelyn Townsley posted a 116 for WMU. Columbus freshman Kinlee Brown led the Wildcats with a 121.
