The Keota Eagles and the Sigourney Savages wrapped up the regular season in track & field with some solid performances from young athletes Monday at the Darrell Brand Relays in Montezuma. The Sigourney girls brought home three victories in the relays, winning the four-by-200-meters in a hair under two minutes flat; the sprint medley in two minutes three seconds; and the distance medley in just under five minutes 10 seconds. The Savages were also runner-up in the 4-by-100 and 4-by-400.

Individually, the best finish for Sigourney belonged to sophomore Reagan Clarahan, who was second in the 400-meter hurdles. Freshman Addison Yates was third in the 400-meter dash, as was sophomore McKinley Chittick in the high jump and senior Macy Fisch in the shot put. Savage sophomore Josephine Moore took fourth in the shot.

The Keota girls brought home a silver medal in the sprint medley, while the best individual finish came from freshman Olivia Lyle winning bronze in the 400 meters. Sophomore Kimberly Clarahan was also third in the 100 hurdles, while the Eagles got fourth-place finishes from Lyle in the 100; freshman Emily Moeller in the 200; sophomore Izzi Chalupa in the long jump; and freshman Kennedy Jackson in the discus toss.

Freshman Luke Moeller led the Keota boys with a fourth-place finish in the 200, while the Eagles were also fourth in the sprint medley. Both Keota and Sigourney will next take the track in Wayland tomorrow at the Class 1A District 10 state qualifying meet.
