This Saturday, the City of Fairfield will host the first annual Midwest VegFest, an event celebrating the vegan lifestyle. The day features a full schedule, filled with food, live music, and guest speakers.
The event kicks off at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Central Park. There, vendors from across the region will offer a variety of plant-based foods until 4 p.m. Guest speakers and seminars begin at noon at the Golden Magnolia Sanctuary in Fairfield. At 3:30 p.m. guests can head to the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center for a showing of The Game Changers film.
All proceeds from tickets and the silent auction will benefit Golden Magnolia Sanctuary, a community center and vegan soup kitchen. The official VegFest will conclude following the film screening at 5:30pm, but Golden Magnolia Sanctuary’s Stone Soup Community Kitchen will be serving a plant-based, pay-what-you-may meal from 5:30-8pm. Musicians from across the country will be performing throughout the day, concluding with an after-party hosted by Noble House Kava from 8 p.m. until midnight.
The Midwest Vegfest is accessible to everyone, with a donation-based ticket system. Pets and kids are also welcome. For more information, or to reserve your ticket, click here.
