The final tune-up before postseason play has arrived for the Washington Demon and Hillcrest Academy boys soccer teams when they face off Thursday in Kalona. The Demons come into the match with an 8-5 overall record after a 2-1 loss Monday in PKs against Southeast Conference rival Burlington. This season the Demons have outscored their opponents 55-16 and posted five defensive shut outs. Individual leaders for Washington include 17 goals and 11 assists for Manny Raymundo and 42 saves for Will Gilchrist Brock. Hillcrest is 4-5 this year after a 1-0 senior night loss to WACO Friday. The Ravens have outscored their opponents this year 20-14 with two defensive shut outs. Individual leaders for the Ravens include Grant Bender with six goals, Rowan Miller with three assists and Kyle Neuschwander with 29 saves. The Ravens have won four of the last five in this series, but it was the Demons that took a 1-0 victory in this matchup last year. Action starts tonight at 6:30 in Kalona.
