Sigourney-Keota soccer finished off the regular season by knocking off the WACO Warriors 2-0 last night. SK scored both of their goals in the second half, breaking up a three-game losing streak and improving to 7-5. Sigourney-Keota next plays in the playoffs, with SK slated to face Centerville in the first round of the Class 1A Substate 6 tournament Monday in Donnellson.

WACO did put up one victory before the regular season ended by defeating Wapello 2-1 Tuesday in overtime. Despite needing the extra session to thwart the winless Indians, goals from sophomore Kieran Luitjens and freshman Raefe Davidson allowed the Warriors to win back-to-back games for the second time in their short program history. WACO’s inaugural regular season ends with a record of 4-8. The Warriors will be facing Danville in their first playoff game Monday in Columbus in the 1A Substate 5 bracket.
