The final results have been tabulated and there will be plenty of Mid-Prairie black and gold headed to next week’s Class 2A State Track and Field meet at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Following the state qualifier meet Thursday in Tipton, the Golden Hawk girls and boys will send a total of 27 events to state. For the Golden Hawk girls, wrapping up their third consecutive state qualifier meet title means they are sending 17 events to Drake Stadium. Among the Golden Hawk’s 15 automatic qualifiers are 10 champions from Thursday including Danielle Hostetler in the 800, seeded fourth at state in 2:22.12, third in the 1500 in 4:55.32 and ninth in the 3000 at 11:06.80. Tabitha Evans seeded fourth in the 200 at 26.03 seconds. Greta Sieren seeded 15th in the 400 at 1:01.84. Ella Groenewold in high jump seeded 15th at 5’1” In relays, the 4×100 of Madeline Schrader, Amara Jones, Jovi Evans and Tabitha Evans seeded third in 50.36 seconds. The same group in the 4×200 seeded second at 1:46.00. The sprint medley of Schrader, Naveah Decker, Evans and Evans seeded seventh at 1:51.64 and the distance medley of Schrader, Jones, Jovi Evans and Hostetler seeded eighth in 4:18.69. Runner-up auto qualifiers included Abby Fleming in the 1500 seeded 19th in 5:12.26 and in the 3000 in 11:09.13 seeded 11th. Emma Lueck in long jump seeded 19th at 16′.5”. The shuttle hurdle team of Amara Jones, Olivia Schlabach, Behla Schmidt and Sophie Miller 17th in 1:09.37 and the 4×800 of Annika Poll, Rebekah Wallington, Kali Miller and Sieren seeded 23rd in 10:30.83. Performance qualifiers representing the Hawks are Decker in the 100 dash, seeded 20th in 13.23 seconds and Sieren in the 800 seeded 24th in 2:29.81.

The Mid-Prairie boys will have 10 events at Drake Stadium next week, including five who qualified automatically at Tipton as part of the Hawks fifth place team finish. They include Jayden Stafford in the 100, 200, 400 and 800 wheelchair races with his state best times of 18.56 seconds, 34.31 seconds, 1:06.55 and 2:23.14 respectively. Emmett Swartzentruber was the two mile champ at Tipton and now the 19th seed at state in 10:27.71. Five more events made state for the Golden Hawk boys based on performance Thursday. Those include Jayse Yoder in the 800, seeded 11th in 2:02.09 and in the mile seeded 17th at 4:43.25. Landon Sullivan in long jump seeded 15th at 20’10.25” and Cain Brown in the same event seeded 17th in 20’8.5”. Blake Creed will run the mile at state, seeded 19th in 4:44.38.
