To kick off the month of May, the Community Foundation of Washington County distributed over $40,000 in funds to 21 Washington County non-profits.
Organizations receiving funds are the Saint James Foundation, Washington Music Boosters, Hospice of Washington County, Washington County YMCA, Washington Community School District Foundation, Washington County Fair Association, Mid-Prairie Foundation, Washington Betterment Foundation, Highland Community Schools, Kalona Public Library Foundation, Washington Public Library Foundation, Crooked Creek Christian Camp, HACAP, Kalona Historical Society, Washington Area Performing Arts and Events Center, Wellman Lime Creek Cemetery, Wellman Emergency Services, Wellman YMCA, Wellman Rotary, Wellman Goodwin Senior Dining, and United Way of Johnson and Washington Counties.
The CFWC was formed in 2006, and has since distributed over $450,000 to non-profit causes in Washington County. Their mission is to promote philanthropy, support non-profits, and help donors fulfill their charitable goals.
