The Highland Huskies join a collection of area schools celebrating senior graduation this weekend. Their ceremony begins on Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium.
Doors open for family and friends at approximately 12:30 p.m. The high school concert band and choir will both perform, along with speeches recognizing the accomplishments of the class of ’23. The audience will hear from Superintendent Ken Crawford, Principal Angela Hazelett, and language arts teacher Angela Strobel, who was chosen to speak by the senior class. Additional speeches will be given by Valedictorian, Joshua Lauer, and Salutatorian, Peyton Yeggy.
This year’s senior class colors are red and white. Their flower is the rose, and their class song is “Long Live” by Taylor Swift. As they close this chapter of their lives, the motto chosen by the Highland seniors is “Four years we’ll never forget, even if we did some things we regret.”
