The Washington County Communications Center will be changing the schedule for the testing of the outdoor warning siren system. Testing of the sirens has taken place on the last Saturday of each month for many years, but after much discussion amongst city and county officials, the scheduled tests will transition to take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am. Testing on a weekday will ensure that staff in each city can verify the functionality of the siren and notify the Communications Center immediately in the event of a failure or malfunction. There will not be a test on Saturday, May 27, as there will be a test on Wednesday, June 7.
