The final two weeks of the month will see three events open to the public at Addington Place in Mount Pleasant.
Thursday, May 25 the facility will hold their third Lunch For A Cause of the year. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. they will be serving a grilled hamburger meal including potato salad, a resident-made fruit salad and a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie for $7. Meals are available through carry-out or delivery. Community Relations Coordinator, Cody Flietner tells KCII where the proceeds will be heading. “This time around we are supporting the Help To Others non-profit organization. They assist individuals living or working in Henry County who are faced with crisis or emergency situations.”
The next day, Addington Place will hold their first-ever garage sale in their facility parking lot. Guests can purchase furniture, home décor, medical items, and other trinkets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds earned from the sale will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
Before the month of May wraps up, they will hold their first-ever Outdoor Movie Night. A movie screening of Avatar will take place in the parking lot on Tuesday, May 30. Admission is free, and complimentary snacks will be provided. Those who attend are asked to bring their own chairs.
