Sigourney-Keota soccer earned the first playoff victory in the program’s short history by defeating Centerville 5-0 in the first round of the Class 1A Substate 6 tournament Monday in Donnellson. Senior Ty Shafranek’s hat trick led the way, while junior Carter Wyatt and freshman Gavin Khali also scored as SK nearly doubled a 3-0 halftime lead. Sigourney-Keota is now 8-5 as they prepare to face West Branch in the 1A Substate 6 semifinals Monday.
