The Hillcrest Academy Raven track and field team saw youth gain valuable experience over the weekend at Drake Stadium in Des Moines and the 2023 Class 1A boys state track championships. Freshman Owen Scott qualified for the boys field in the long jump. Scott entered the meet seeded 16th of 24 after qualifying at WACO with a leap of 20’3.5″. In the state contest, he out performed that seed, placing 11th, clearing 20′.75″.
