The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed an Iowa DOT Pre-Construction Agreement at their meeting Tuesday. The agreement would pave fifty feet onto eight secondary roads along Highway 92 Southwest of Washington. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius talks about the cost of the project, “Same type of paving, this time the estimate is $210,900; however, this time $131,800 would come out of what I consider our daily operation or our local budget. And $79,000 will come out of our farm-to-market account. Again both payable over a three-year time frame.” The construction is scheduled to begin in the 2024 construction season. The Board of Supervisors approved this project.
