The Washington American Legion Post 29 will hold its Memorial Day Observance in Washington’s Central Park on May 29th. At 8 am, there will be a flag raising at the Washington Post office, weather permitting. At 8:45 am there is a Navy-marines tribute at the Crooked Creek Bridge with Bruce Timmons, retired Sergeant Major speaking. The main program will be held in Central Park beginning at 10 am with Darwin “Pete” Peterson, retired Lieutenant Colonel, speaking. If there is rain that day the event will be held in the Washington High School gym.
