After an early April start, demolition and removal of the former Washington County Jail and Tower is now complete. Last Wednesday morning, a crew and crane dismantled the old communications tower. The tower was dismantled in two pieces. One worker climbed half of the tower to make the disconnections so that the crane could move the top piece to the ground. The bottom portion was then disconnected and removed. No decision has been made about what that space will be used for by the County.
