The Washington Demons are still searching for their first baseball victory of the season after they fell 20-9 in a home game against Solon Friday night. After tying the game at two in the third inning, Washington turned a 5-2 deficit into a lead with seven runs scored in the fourth. Unfortunately, the lead would not hold long. Solon again tied the game at nine in the fifth inning, and the Spartan lineup would roll from there.

The Demons were led by a big night at the plate for junior second baseman Luke Beenblossom, who had two hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Outfielder Isaac Vetter also had two hits and scored two runs, while fellow senior James Strabala had two hits and a RBI. Junior Chase Greiner finished with three hits, while senior center fielder Austin Rebling added two hits, one run scored and one driven in.

Vetter and freshmen Caden Greiner and Kael Williams had two stolen bases each. Strabala took the pitching loss, giving up three hits and two walks in an inning and a third. Washington falls to 0-3 and starts conference play tomorrow night when they host Mount Pleasant.
