The Washington Demons will look to close out their week on a high note as they travel to face rival Mount Pleasant tonight in high school baseball on KCII. Washington is seeking the series sweep against their conference foes. After starting the season 0-3, the Demons have responded thanks to winning both games in a doubleheader with Mount Pleasant Tuesday.

A strong pitching performance from senior Issac Vetter, giving up just one unearned run on one hit in five innings, powered Washington to win game one 4-1. Junior catcher Caleb Zieglowsky’s two hits and three runs batted in proved crucial to beating the Panthers 9-8 in game two. Afterwards, Demons head coach TJ Rausch told KCII Sports something.

Mount Pleasant will be smarting, having dropped to 1-5 along with the winless start to conference play.
